This is my second painting after dipping back into making art. Having gotten more of a gist of my style from Reflection, I started to think about things in the past that I found interesting to keep the ball rolling on my painting motivation.
For this painting, I mostly delved deeper in my interest of windows and their functionality of connecting two spaces but also acting as a barrier. I believe this also ties into some of my other work, given I find comfort in including some sort of “barrier” that prevents the viewer from seeing an open space without restriction.
Other points during this time that influenced the work were me being very into fine china and cabinetry, and being proud of how my houseplants were growing.
