For this painting, I decided to fully embrace my comfort zone and see where it would get me. I landed on the simple landscape, a barrier from the open space, rough brush strokes, and light colors overlapping.
However, possibly from putting less pressure on the process, my hand felt looser (evident in the blue strokes of the sky), and decisions fell into place more freely. Honestly, I believe this may be one of my first projects in a very long time where I had fun in its entirety. Even though the origin of this piece was to stay in my realm of comfort and not push for more, this acted as a reminder that it is good to be at peace with where you are, and to take time to reflect on how far you’ve gone and see what you can make with it.
Overall, a great change of pace and a 10/10 time!
